Our Story
Creating Beautiful Music Since 1998
Opening with the school in 1998, the O'Connor High School Orchestra is celebrating it's 24th year in existence. We have 4 performing orchestras that make up the group: Varsity Full Orchestra, Non-Varsity Orchestra, Sub Non-Varsity A Concert Orchestra, and the Sub Non-Varsity B String Orchestra. We have an ever expanding program of more than 100 talented musicians.
The O'Connor HS Orchestra has constantly received accolades, every year we have received the highest ratings at the University Interscholastic League (UIL) Concert & Sight-Reading Evaluation competitions each year. The group also consistently performs as a Symphony Orchestra combining with the woodwinds, brass, and percussion sections of the O'Connor Marching Band. Together, they perform high-quality repertoire at a high level of musicality. Every year, students have participated in the UIL Solo & Ensemble competition, dozens of students throughout the year have received superior rating and have gone onto compete at the State level. We hope to keep these successes a long-lasting tradition.
We are fortunate at O'Connor High School to have dedicated students, teachers, administration, staff, and parents. The strong sense of community is something unseen anywhere else.
